Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 26, 2026

This policy explains what information JollyRoses ("we", "us") collects when you use jollyroses.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

1. Visitor statistics (no cookies)

To understand which recipes are useful, our own servers record page views. For each view we store the page address, the referring website (for example, a search engine), campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), your approximate country as reported by our network provider, and your device type and browser name.

We do not store your IP address. To count unique visitors, we create a one-way code from your IP address, browser details and a random value that changes every day; the daily value is then deleted, so visits cannot be linked across days or traced back to you. We keep these records for about 13 months and keep only aggregated daily totals after that. This measurement uses no cookies.

We also record simple, anonymous actions on recipe pages — such as printing, sharing or changing servings — using the same daily code.

2. Information you give us

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
  • JollyRoses Insiders (email list): your email address, where you signed up, the topics you chose (such as new recipes or early access to the ingredient scanner) and, if you provide it, your ZIP code, so we can email you about those topics and decide where to launch new features first. Every email will include a way to unsubscribe.
  • Ratings: your star rating and a one-way code made from your connection and browser, so each device can rate a recipe only once.
  • Reviews and photos: the text and photo you submit, shown publicly with your first name after moderation. We re-process uploaded photos, which removes embedded information such as camera details and location.

3. Accounts (optional)

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google and store them to run your account (saved recipes, shopping list and reviews). We keep you signed in with a secure cookie described on our cookies page. You can delete your account and all linked data at any time from your account page.

4. How we use information

To run and improve the site, reply to messages, send emails you asked for, prevent spam and abuse, and decide which recipes and features to build next. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Service providers

  • Hostinger — hosts our servers and email.
  • Cloudflare — delivers the site securely and quickly, protects it from attacks, and provides the Turnstile bot check on our forms.
  • Google — provides the optional Sign in with Google.

Food photos are from Unsplash and are served from our own servers, so viewing them does not send your information to Unsplash.

6. How long we keep information

Detailed visitor records: about 13 months. Account data: until you delete your account. Email sign-ups and waitlists: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your request and keep appropriate records.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop emailing you, using our privacy request form. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Union), you may have additional rights under local law; we will honor requests as required by applicable law.

8. Children

JollyRoses is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), keep our database private to our server, and limit access to authorized administrators. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

10. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above.
